There was a dedicated home office space that needed to be redecorated. The office space, however, had a lot of challenges on hand and needed a professional touch of an interior designer.

The challenges on hand were:

  • Infusing the rest of the house theme into the office space so that it appears to be one joint
  • Compose a specially curated traditional home office interior design so that the client can feel that the house itself is one unit
  • Dedicating specific areas in the home office for clients – their passions and their hobbies
  • Providing sufficient storage space to the client
  • Keeping the cost under a specific budget.

The Inspiration:

The inspiration was taken from various sources readily available on the internet. But the basic ideas were to amalgamate the modern perspective into the traditional aspect of the home. Traditionally styled interior design mainly comprises rustic details, warm and woody accessories, dark/black elements, or in other words showcase of strong masculine characters.

A tinge of greenery is also evident in the interior design of a traditional style decorated space.

Ideas and Concepts:

The ideas and concepts revolved around masculinity and the traditional interior style approach. The ideas and concepts needed to be brought up on the same page as it also required to infuse a touch of modernity as well. A lot of brainstorming and conceptualizing of the ideas went by the team of designers to put up on the mood board for the office space.

A pleasant and highly motivating environment was chosen to infuse in the office space. The space was being curated to comfort so that the person working in the space can easily spend long hours without getting tired and would be comfortable and at ease.

It was also decided to incorporate such traditional office furniture that will put up extra seating in the office for the visitors or the family members. The initial concept was to incorporate modern touch into traditional while keeping in mind the preferences and the basic needs of the person who will be the occupant of the home office.

Interior Design Incorporation:

To decorate a traditional styled interior design office space, we incorporated wooden elements specifically in brown hues such as bookcases to accentuate the warmth of the room.

One of the major requirements was to provide sufficient space for the storage of the documentation and books.

A special practical wooden panel which was also very attractive was infused in the room to provide the functional ground by solving the issue of the space.

A reading spot was also specially made to enjoy leisure time by spending on a recliner chair. This will help in rejuvenating after a tiring day of work.

The reading corner complimented the overall room theme so much as it looked like a practical part of traditional themed office space.

The only aspect which was needed for the room to give a complete picture was the addition of a modern side table used to keep magazines and books and other documents.

A beautiful and elegant floor lamp was installed which was hovering over the reading spot, anchoring upon a rug that completed the overall look of the room.

The rug is an essential part of the room as I act both as a decorative as well as a functional element which will, later on, be the most used space of the room.

The wall art was specifically chosen to gel with the overall theme of the room. It should have a visual appearance as well as an aesthetic style to give out a warm and Cozy feel while appearing alluring.

The Outcome:

The home office was completely transformed from a blank canvas to a beautiful, frivolous traditional office space. The room got its own character without much refurbishment. The additional furnishings and décor accessories were all brought in keeping in mind the theme of the home office.

The black elements, reading spot and the modern table all complemented the traditional office furniture, speaking a dramatic statement to the visitors as well as being a pleasure to the eyes.

It is always a challenge to decorate a space from the scratch. It requires a lot of brainstorming and conceptualizing the in-hand supplies when you want a space according to a specific theme.

The traditional office interior design is very difficult to achieve on a limited budget as the theme itself speaks about royalty and traditions. Still, it is important to stay within the budget and create something which will be inspiring and appealing at the same time.
