Like every other project, this also had its fair set of challenges that needed to be curbed down. First of all, the main goal was to make the space look appealing to the audience as well as practical so that it attracts the holidaymakers to stay. To make this happen, we had to

  • Have durable furniture as well as décor stuff that can easily handle the wear and tear caused by the guests, especially children
  • Giving the space a modern look but still keeping the organic quotient intact by using materials like wood and stone
  • Make the design as creative and unique as possible so that it stands out amongst other holiday rental places in the vicinity
  • Incorporation of modern electric appliances would be a plus such as a microwave, fridge, etc., to provide home-like comfort to the tenants.

The Inspiration

The inspiration was taken from the internet as well as from visiting the mountainous areas and checking out some of the famous luxurious rental spaces to find what is missing or what unique thing can be offered that will attract other holidaymakers.

It was decided to keep the interior design heavily embellished with natural and organic features like wood, stones, and marble. To give it a modern touch, it was decided to keep that shades of white and black would be used throughout and simplified lines would be made prominent to give a geometrical feel. This would stand out among the lush green scenic views of the mountains.

When the above-mentioned elements would be amalgamated, they will create a sophisticated and sleek look combined with the warmness of the modern interior in the mountains with warm shades to add coziness.

The Moodboard

The moodboard comprises natural and contrasting textures that best elaborated the minimalistic look that was initially decided to be created. This contrast gave depth to the chic and clean style of the rental space.

The moodboard

The moodboard was a testament that a mountain rental space is being created that is modern and contemporary yet exudes warm vibes for the holidaymakers to relax and enjoy their time at the rental space.

The vacation rental interior design was kept elegant yet functional. Focus and attention were given to the furnishing while keeping the walls and interior to be organic-inspired complementing the setup of the house deep in the mountains.

As mentioned above, the interior was chosen to be so welcoming that it will feel like a breath of fresh air to the holidaymakers. It was decided to keep the entrance open and bright with the help of brushed metal accents and black doors and windows that will stand out in contrast to the organically decorated space. The walls were decided to be kept white with glass barriers amplifying natural light into the rental space.

The rental space was given a maximum visual and textural appeal on the stairs, and console, and the rest of the elaboration was completed with the help of the wooden floor.

On one side of the main living room, a woven rug was placed complimented with picture frames and vases having fresh flowers, to make the place appear fresh and lively.

The one thing that stole the show completely was the minimalist chandelier standing out in front of the accented wall accentuating the beauty of the modern design.

To give an organic touch to the setting, potted plants were placed to break the color code of neutrals as well as bring life into the interior. The plants give a lush green color that makes the space look vibrant in an otherwise neutral setup.

It was made sure that the doors used are made of glass as well as the long window so that an ample amount of natural light comes in. artificial lights were also placed wherever needed but there is no comparison with the natural lighting.

The overall environment was kept light and welcoming. A fireplace was mandatory considering it to be a mountain rental space. The fireplace was beautifully paired with woven rugs and leather swivel chairs – a fine addition to the vacation rental spot. They were attractive and comfy as well as provided extra seating for large groups.

The modern furnishing was complemented by the wooden artwork and modern chandeliers so that they stand out in the living room as well as the bedrooms where the tenants go and relax.
