Before & After: Luxury Master Bathroom Interior Design

A house that exuberates luxury and royalty must have an equally artistic bathroom that can be truly called a part of the house. Right? If a bathroom is unwelcoming and dark, would it fit the luxury of the house in any possible way? We don’t think so.

So, we thought of coming up with a brief guide regarding how to transform a dark and rather unwelcoming bathroom into a luxurious one that will be remodeled and will become a sanctuary fit ultimately to go with a luxurious royal house.

The Challenge:

If you are looking to convert a normal-looking bathroom into a luxurious, royal one then there will be quite a few challenges to face for the interior designer. The designer needs to come up with unique ideas to convert the space into a space that is fit for kings. So, the challenges at hand were:

  • Addition of artificial as well as natural light into a dark bathroom
  • Incorporation of a dark-colored wall into a small bathroom so that it doesn’t appear smaller
  • Having enough space on the floorplan so that the luxurious bathtub can be fitted or if not that then there is still some space to fit in a yoga mat.

The Inspiration:

The internet is full of inspirational videos, footage, images, and photos. You name it and you will find luxurious bathroom designs embellished with glossy backsplashes, bathtubs, standalone, finest marble, etc. You can get inspiration from Pinterest images as well.

If you are looking to renovate the whole house along with the bathroom, then it is advised to go according to the theme of the house. You can shape the interior of the bathroom according to the royal color theme you have chosen for the house so that there is harmony in the house.

The Moodboard:

A moodboard was created for the luxurious master bathroom keeping in mind the effective usage of the lights. Vanity lights will change the game instantly.

Vanity lights placed just above the mirror will make the space appear larger and the placement of the mirror will make it stand out.

Additionally, to add an aesthetically pleasing look to the bathroom, it was decided to place white wallpaper on one of the walls of the bathroom, and if it is next to a window, that will be magical. This will make the natural light coming from the window bounce across the bathroom.

There is no competition between natural light and artificial light. Though artificial light does make the bathroom appear chic and larger but if there is an ample amount of natural light coming in the bathroom then it would be suppressed by the natural light source for sure.

So, the moodboard was finalized to have a laminated floor that would be of wood, an accented wall in a chevron pattern at the shower end, and a luxury master bathroom is incomplete without a standalone bathtub. This was mandatory to bring sophistication into the bathroom and further give finishing touches to the bathroom with the help of the addition of natural elements.

The Luxury Bathroom Design:

The placement of mirrors matters the most. If you have space in the bathroom then it is ideal to dedicate a wall to the mirrors but if it’s a smaller bathroom then placing mirrors on more than one wall would seal the deal as this will accentuate the sophistication in the bathroom wrapped around the cabinets oozing out a distinctive air of royalty and luxury.

It is very important that the design makes the bathroom appear spacious. It should feel spacious. Usage of white paint would be ideal to do the job. This will gel in perfectly with the vanity lights as they will bounce back from the mirror towards the walls and the standalone bathtub making the bathroom appear to be bright and airt.

There are so many colors that go well with white background. But when you think of luxury combined with spaciousness – blue is an ideal choice. Contrast the master bathroom with blue countertops that will give a perfect nautical look to the bathroom accentuated by the laminated wooden floor paired with beautiful beige-colored ottomans and a woven laundry basket. A perfect balance to the bathroom to make the final finishes, Let’s not forget the shower area! This space is the most focal place of the bathroom and remodeling it into a chevron print is a risky decision but it will go well as the rest of the bathroom is kept minimal but royal.

The chevron-designed wall in the shower area will be a perfect partner for an accent wall in mosaic style along with a shower head that is handheld and powered by H2Okinetic technology, giving a spa-like experience to the occupants.

The shower area will be the best in the bathroom compliments of wooden rustic shelves and occasional vases.

This will be the final part of the design and you will have a timeless master bathroom that will be exuberating luxury and royalty.

Once you have designed the bathroom, have a look at it again and check out the flow of the accessories and the bath items that you have placed – everything will be seamless and perfectly placed in their places.

Lastly to accentuate the design of the luxurious master bathroom more, get a floral wallpaper to give out the aesthetics that are missing from the bathroom. This little placement just to the side of the bath would give the interior a little feminine touch but would be as perfect as a jigsaw puzzle piece.
